Science Fair Projects 2006 - Planning Guide Welcome to the planning guide for the St. Edmund's Catholic School Science Fair, 2006! The members of ScienceVT, along with some volunteers from Year 7, will be exhibiting their new Science Fair soon. Here is a step-by-step plan to preparing your project... Step 1: Choose an area of science that interests you You must be interested in the Science that is covered by your project. You should also try to choose something original or unique - people who choose similar projects may have to change. If you need ideas...
Step 2: Decide upon an activity You will display your project at the Science Fair. Last year we had over 400 visitors to the Science Fair and they all wanted to get hands-on. Your project must include:
You will need to practice your activity before the Science Fair so you know what you are doing. If you wish, you may just produce a poster project about your topic, if there is no obvious practical to do. If you do this, you must produce a large poster and have at least two games related to you project for visitors to play. Step 3: Prepare your experiment and poster This will take time so you need to concentrate. Your experiment needs
Your poster needs
Step 4: Take part in the Science Fair The day of the Science Fair will need you to concentrate and be sensible. You will have an area to set up your experiment and to carry it out. You will be expected to spend most of the day showing off your experiment and letting visitors take part safely. There will be a judging session during the day with prizes and certificates being awarded to the winning competitors. There will also be a DVD produced of the Science Fair. You may be asked to give a short interview for this, separate from the Science Fair. I need more help! Remember you can always ask for help, although you must be patient - it is tough to support a whole group when everyone is working on their own project! There is a detailed, American, explanation about preparing for a Science Fair here, although we do not need to produce a printed report - a poster, hopefully with photos, is good enough. |
