Parachute Survival

The most difficult INDIVIDUAL parachute challenge ever!

Your challenge is to design and build a parachute that can safely carry a passenger to the ground from a height of 10 metres.

All your efforts must be put into designing the Parachute.  There will be NO PADDING ALLOWED around the passenger - a normal EGG.  The Parachute will be attached to the egg using a single piece of sticky tape around the middle.

You have to work on your own!

Equipment available

Scissors, glue, sticky tape, string, thin white plastic.

Optional equipment

You may use any other material from home to make your parachute.

You may decorate your parachute as much as you like - there will be a special tasty prize for the best looking.

Judging

The parachutes will be judged on two criteria

1) Does the Egg survive the jump?

2) How long does it take to fall? - longer fall time is better

So if no eggs survive, the longest fall time will win.

Prizes

1st Prize:  A TELESCOPE!

2nd Prizes: Two FM Radios

3rd Prizes: Two mini-calculators

Other prizes such as a CD holder and chocolate.
