Project Ideas - Summer 2005

The members of ScienceVT will be involved in more new projects during the school year, September 2005 to July 2006.  UPDATED: January 2006!

Here are some new ideas that we may be following up throughout the year:

Make a timing device using sand that times exactly 60 seconds
Build the tallest tower possible with marshmallows and straws, that can support a creme egg
Parachute designing to hit a target safely
Making an egg-catcher
Preparing a whole-school assembly about part of Science
Create a zoom machine that can travel a short distance quickly
Build towers that can hold the greatest mass
Develop air-powered rockets that can cover the longest distance
Design speedboats that can move across water in the least possible time
Make boats that can hold the greatest mass from the simplest materials
Encourage other pupils to be interested in Science by running a Science Club or Science Masterclass
Run another Science Fair in the summer months
Work with other Vertical Tutor Groups on joint projects
Learn about new scientific developments from magazines and the internet

The members of ScienceVT can suggest their own ideas whenever they wish!
